I’m looking for a piece to use for Christmas lessons and carols that’s for treble choir (2-part/SA/SSA/etc) and Strings!
I have a string quartet coming in and i want the choir to have a chance to sing with them outside of hymns. If anyone has any recommendations or suggestions please let me know. I’d prefer the String parts already be published/printable.
You could try the Bassano Hodie Christus Natus Est with your choir taking the SSA choir parts and the string quartet playing the parts of the second SATB choir.
My "Creator of the stars of night"/"Conditor alme siderum" - originally composed as an SATB a cappella piece - works very well as an SA+string quartet piece. It also works for SATB+strings.
Here's the choral (SATB) score plus the string parts.
