this parish has a developing interest in Gregorian chant and a new organ and supportive pastor, along with a good salary for a full time organist/musician/director.

Could you post whatever info you have? I've looked at the NPM (ugh) and AGO websites and found nothing about it.

When was the last time you saw a Catholic parish's mission statement that didn't make it seem indistinguishable from the Red Cross?
    The Mission:

Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church's mission is that of Jesus Christ:
the conversion of sinners and the salvation of souls. (1)

    The Plan:

We accomplish our mission by (A) Preaching the Gospel, (B) Conferring the Sacraments, and (C) Evangelizing the World Around Us, faithfully guided by the Magisterium. (2)

    Preaching the Gospel

As a Church, we preach the Gospel by our words, and by how we live our lives. We use the gifts that God has given us to call others to a higher standard of living that is rooted in the Gospel and thus countercultural – a truly Catholic lifestyle that challenges the norm. Conversion literally means to turn toward the Lord, and live a holier life. (3) We teach others to do that through preaching the Gospel.

    Conferring the Sacraments:

The One who truly confers the Sacraments is Jesus Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit. Bishops, priests, and deacons are ordinary ministers of the Sacraments as they act in the person of Christ. (4) However, Christ invites some to use the gifts He has given them to help those who are seeking conversion through the Sacraments. Those who are called, participate in Christ’s work by developing, preparing and administering formation programs for the Sacraments.

    Evangelizing the World Around Us:

We seek to have such an enthusiasm for our Catholic faith, that in living that faith in Jesus, others are drawn to join us. (5) We open our doors and invite all people to hear the message of salvation in Jesus Christ so that they may come to participate in the fullness of the Catholic faith. (6) We use the gifts God has given us to foster gospel values in our society, promoting the sacredness of the human person, the vital importance of the family, and the common good of our society, so that others may be transformed by the saving power of Jesus Christ. (7)

And annotated with references to the CCC and Code of Canon Law!

Also, there are a series of articles (written by the Pastor, one assumes) on all kinds of Church-related issues, equally well-written and full of references.
  • from the parish website under ministries (this is not all inclusive and is a general mission statement):
St Paul Music Ministry strives to:
    1) Glorify God through a strong priority of excellence in music;.
    2) Provide a sacred atmosphere of reverence in worship through sacred music in accordance with the Magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church;.
    3) Dedicate ourselves to the development of an excellent music program, within the parish and through ecumenical community programs;
    4) Thus serve God with humility and Grace.

for articles look under the sacraments link and the church building link

This is a parish with an elementary school of about 250, a congregation of about 1350 families, new 1200 seat church (no carpet or or padded pews), and about 60 active ministries.

The organ is a new digital Allen renaissance Quantum Q345C, 58 Stop/232 Voice Three-Manual Console Plus 4 Second Voices. The parish plans to build a true pipe organ in due time, so experience in that area would be a plus.
  • This parish hired someone today from the pool of many qualified applicants it received through this posting. God bless CMAA for helping to create a network for those wanting so badly to build proper Sacred Music programs. A life spent creating beauty to glorify God is a life well spent. The parish sent emails to all those who inquired or applied thanking them and informing them of the new hire.
  • This parish has been very straightforward and clear in dealing with applicants and they are to be applauded...and they should serve as a guide to others in the process.
