This is certainly cool, but what really is the significance of this? Does it signify a new trend toward pipe organs in American Catholicism? It doesn’t look like their organs will be any less expensive than other companies.
Just the revival of a tradition, and secondarily that it is associated with a university where, presumably, a new generation of builders can be fostered from among the student population.
As a former student of the now-defunct American Organ Institute at the University of Oklahoma, I’m quite pleased to see this arrangement pick up the torch, as it were.
