St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church (https://www.stmichaelcary.org/) in Cary NC, a large parish in the Diocese of Raleigh, seeks a part-time Associate Director of Music and Liturgy/Organist. St. Michael's is a thriving suburban parish with over 5,000 families, a K-8 school, multiple choirs including a 16-voice polyphonic choir, a growing Gregorian chant program, professional instrumentalists, and a reputation for excellent ars celebrandi.

Duties include organ accompaniment for 2-3 Masses per weekend, choral rehearsal accompaniment, funerals (c. 40+ per year) and weddings (c. 20+ per year), as well as other duties as assigned by the Director of Music and Liturgy.

The ideal candidate must be a practicing Catholic with minimum Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in music and experience accompanying Catholic liturgy on the organ. Good vocal and conducting ability is desireable, as well as liturgical formation in authentic sacred music including chant and polyphony, sung Propers, Latin and English Ordinaries, and familiarity with relevant Church documents on liturgy. Spanish language skills are a plus.
