Is anyone else getting a 404 error on ICEL's music page? http://www.icelweb.org/musicfolder/openmusic.php

The main page doesn't give a 404, but has only placeholder content.

I was trying to get some of the music for Holy Week...

With the wayback machine, down is the new up.
  • Is this a problem to be fixed, or a festival to be celebrated?

However, I can only see the first page of the PDFs. Maybe that’s a mobile device thing?
  • @davido that is a mobile device thing but there is an easy way around it. If you go to the upper right corner where it says “About this capture” and click on it, you should see a link to the whole pdf under the heading “timestamps”. This shows you the whole pdf if it is multiple pages.

With the WayBack the way to go forward is to go backward

Tis also true for the body of sacred music.

CPDL and IMSLP are your best resources

(tis also true for liturgical praxis)

Oof, that website looks like it hasn't been updated since 1997.

Can't be; they have the 'new' missal translation from 2010 and a welcome photo "on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the founding of ICEL" and elsewhere they state:
"Bishops from English-speaking countries attending the Second Vatican Council set up the Commission in Rome in 1963."
So the last update of the homepage must have been as recent as 2013 - and some subpages even May 2020(!)

I just meant graphically. It looks like I should be visiting it via Netscape Navigator.

I like it that way; it loads fast, is easy to read, and isn’t bogged down by umpteen trackers.

Besides, what earlier web designers held as sacred, remains sacred and great for us too, and it cannot be all of a sudden entirely forbidden or even considered harmful.
  • Gamba,

go to http://www.icelweb.org/musicfolder/. You will see a list of filenames. If you click on one, it will take you to one of the pieces.
