Who wrote the doxology "We pray thee, holy Trinity"? It appears in The English Hymnal (1933) in a translation by John Mason Neale (#65) and then in a translation by Thomas Lacey (#66). It looks like a translation of the doxology:"Prasta beata Trinitas" that ends many Lenten hymns. Does anyone know who made the English translation, and/or when and where it was first published? Are there any resources for looking up things like this?
The same question goes for the doxology "Father and Son and Spirit blest" which appears in the English hymnal with translations by Lacey (#67 and #69) and Maurice Bell (#68). This seems to be a generic doxology, though I've only seen it with Lenten hymns.
