I failed to mention that we sang eleven verses of Immaculate Mary. I have now tested whether they _really like_ singing every verse as they claimed or were just putting me on. They really like it.

Nothing fancy, but we did manage to sing the Ave Maria in 4 parts.
Jeffrey’s post reminded me: we did Credo III (my transcription into English: https://youtu.be/YftNTaN6GD4) at our principal /choir mass as well. I love singing the creed.
@ServiamScores — how is your Englished version of Credo III different from the one in St Michael Hymnal? I believe that has an ICEL provenance, but I don’t have it in front of me to check
@irishtenor There are quite a few little differences (including the first congregational part "the Father Almighty"). I had printed out James' copy for my choir and found out that it was not the same as what we normally had sung out of the SMH.
I didn’t even realize it was in the SMH because I haven’t really looked at that hymnal in a decade.
In my case, I literally went back to the original plainchant and went through it line by line just doing what I thought made sense, with an aim to make it as close to the original as possible.
There are two adjustments that I’ve made since posting that video, however: I added back the missing note from the incipit and corrected the accidental mistake where it says “begotten, [and] not made” (I accidentally added “and” when I first did this, which is not part of the official translation). I need to update the version on my website to reflect these changes.
I’ll be curious to look at the smh version though.
I should clarify that our aim is to teach the congregation the original melody, with the hope of singing the original Latin for feast days and solemnities, hence us not going with the ICEL version which takes a number of liberties. It would be difficult to switch between the two, whereas we hope the transition between my transcription and the Latin will be as smooth as anyone could hope for. We are Novus Ordo, so I consider this to be a pretty big deal, all things considered, and I’m thrilled we are on this track. We’re doing the same thing with the the pater noster: https://youtu.be/N95Mtd29Yy4
My choir sang (among other pieces) Serviam & Nihil's setting of the Polish hymn, Maria, Maria. I thought it came off rather nicely, gentlemen. Thank you.
I LOVE that hymn. We trot it out occasionally and it seems to have the same buy-in as some of the other good Marian barn-burners. People really seem to enjoy it.
