St. Thomas More’s music ministry draws the faithful closer to God with a repertoire steeped in traditions old and new. We are seeking an accompanist adept in multiple musical styles to help us continue our legacy of excellent musicianship.
Responsibilities: • Accompanist for adult choir. The choir practices each Thursday from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. and sings at the 10 a.m. Mass each Sunday from September until Corpus Christi, plus special occasions (Confirmation, Christmas, Holy Week, etc.). • Accompanist for youth choir (grades 3-8). This choir will be re-formed this fall. Weekly practice date/time TBA; the choir will sing once a month from October to May, occasionally with the adult choir.
Desired Skills: • Proficiency at organ and piano, including playing hymns, solo repertoire, and improvisation • Strong sight-reading • Understanding of Catholic liturgy (or willingness to learn) • Ability to assist with conducting and teaching choir parts is a plus
