According to the RCIA book, a hymn can be sung when there is a large number of adults to be baptized, instead of an acclamation after each baptism. I'm looking for suggestions.
  • If you have a relatively competent SATB choir, Sicut Cervus is most appropriate.

Just please don’t sing Carey Landry’s “You Have Been Baptized”. They used to sing that after every baby being baptized when I was a kid.

And the second and third parts Sitivitetc... At most Baptisms we have we sing Sicut Cervus, Palestrina setting. Our Children think that this is normal!

  • Tom,

How many different settings of Sicut Cervus or Sitivit anima mea do you use.

The Chant and the Palestrina setting... I am sure there must be others.
