    In the past year or two Discussions have been brought forward that fall under the category of “general discussion, Catholicism”. Some threads are active and some get “closed”. I am confused at times.., What are the Parameters around making a decision about this category one way or the other?

    If they are generating more heat than light, or the same people are rehashing the same viewpoints repeatedly, they have a good chance of being shut down.

    And copying and pasting a lot also tends to drive discussion into the ground.

    Are you perhaps referring to copying and pasting links, explanations, articles or references that have already vetted the issue at hand?
