Fairfield University (a Jesuit University in Connecticut) is sponsoring, as part of its Fall 2021 Catholic Studies events, a lecture, "Authentically Black and Catholic: A Visionary Retrospective of African American Music in Catholic Worship." The session lecture will be delivered by Kevin Philip Johnson, DMA, Director of the Spelman College Glee Club, on Wednesday, October 27, at 7:30 p.m. This is a hybrid event, so one can attend in person or register for livestream at fairfield.edu/cs. The event is free and open to the public.
I wonder if they'll include Cdl Sarah's views of being authentically Catholic while also being "authentically black" (whatever that's supposed to mean).
