Liturgical Books- Funeral Rites
  • Does anyone know what is the latest addition of "Order of Christian Funerals"
the one we have is from 1989- can we still use this? If not, does anyone have a PDF of the newest rite.

One of our Sisters passed this morning and the funeral might actually be tomorrow... I am rushing to put things together. Thanks for anyone who can help. Please join us in prayer for the repose of her soul. She died age 99 having entered religious life in 1945- Sister Mary of the Precious Blood

Although the Rite itself has not yet been revised, this edition of the Order of Christian Funerals (including Appendix 2: Cremation) was updated in 2019 in accord with The Roman Missal (published by Catholic Book in 2011) and includes texts of Sacred Scripture in accord with the current Lectionary for Mass, Volume IV (published by Catholic Book in 2002).

And in a monastery you will want to consult the Ordo Cantus Missae here, for the multiplicity of items in the Graduale Romanum (and one extra). And in a small monastery check the Graduale Simplex too, for authentic simple chants. [pdf on this page : https://musicasacra.com/resource-lists/ pages 401ff]
