Good afternoon, everyone! We are planning for the Perpetual Profession of one of our Sisters on the Solemnity of the Assumption this year. We are blessed to have not only our Sisters available to sing, but a men's schola who also sing SATB polyphony. The Mass will be OF and we hope to have some Latin, but it will not be entirely in Latin. I am asking for your ideas to help make this a beautiful and Solemn Liturgy! Here are some ideas so far:
Entrance: Introit Polyphonic (English or Latin) schola SATB
Kyrie: schola/congregation alternations
Gloria: schola/congregation alternations
Psalm:
Alleluia:
Calling of the Candidates: Sisters/Sister
Litany of the Saints – English
Offertory: Proper (Polyphonic – English or Latin) or Victoria’s Ave maria
Censing of the Altar etc. – organ improve on the theme of the Polyphony
Sanctus – schola/congregation
Mem Accl – chanted in English
Amen – simple tone
Pater Noster - ???? Latin?
Agnus Dei – schola/congregation
Communion – proper (Polyphonic) and other polyphony (Magnificat?) - Sisters
Recessional: Toccata in F - Widor
Can anyone point me to polyphonic propers in Latin or english for this occasion? Or, does anyone have other ideas about the music that would include both Latin and English? Thank you in advance for your ideas, if you have a moment to contribute!
