Can anyone make a suggestion for an appropriate ordination gift, from the musicians in a parish, for a young man who seems to have all the right instincts, if not, perhaps, the right liturgical formation? (Anything with any reference to the EF would be out of the question.)
I would give the Missa Cantata now because the new translation won't be a reality for two or three years -
that is enough time for a brand new priest to develop NOW good liturgical habits and learn to sing the mass as it should be sung.
(Now is this time for him to be... I believe the word is... 'inculturated', and properly so.
