I have just today learnt that the doctors have said that one of my younger brothers has a very limited time left in this life. His name is Lewden. I would appreciate your prayers on his behalf. He was successfully chemoed and radiated for pancreatic cancer last autumm. Having defeated the cancer, though, the treatments apparently did damage in other places, besides leaving him very weak. Please pray for Lewden.
This is so sad, Jackson. Pancreatic cancer has been very cruel and devastating to several people I have known and cared deeply about. I shall send up prayers for Lewden and for you as well. May God grant comfort, strength, and peace to both of you.
Chris - Lewden is an old family name, at one time a surname, that was brought over from England in the late XVIIIth century. It has appeared numerous times throughout the generations in my family. Lewden's middle name is Perry, which came from my grandfather, Sanford Perry Enslen. Perry is, of course, the Anglicised version of the French Pierre, for Peter.
Having lost my younger brother a few months ago, I am intimate with your loss. Rest in peace Lewden and may the angels carry you to the bosom of Abraham.
I want to offer a profound thanks to each and all of you who have offered prayers, masses, and offices for my brother Lewden and all of us. It will take some time getting used to the reality that he has departed this life. I have one other younger brother, Joseph, so this will no doubt bring us even more closely bonded. Thank you all for your outpouring of prayer and caring.
