TENOR STAFF SINGER OPENING
The Parish of Saint Catherine of Siena in Trumbull, CT is seeking an experienced tenor for a 4-voice professional ensemble.
The ensemble tenor position includes the following: 1 monthly Wednesday evening rehearsal (7:00-9:00pm), Sunday 11:00 a.m. Mass (10:00am rehearsal) and all other special Masses as announced. Availability for Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, all of Holy Week and Easter Sunday is required.
Desired qualifications:
1. Developed tenor voice with a bright, bendable tone and clear upper range
2. Strong sight singing ability
3. Choral experience, preferably in small ensembles
4. Ability to learn music independently outside of rehearsals
Stipend is $100 per call, payable at the end of each month. This is an independently contracted position. All independent contractors must be in compliance with the Diocese of Bridgeport Safe Environments policy. This includes a background check and certification in the Virtus training program. The position is available starting on November 29.
COVID-19 Pandemic Info:
1. Facemasks are required of all parishioners and staff when entering and exiting the church building.
2. The singers and music director will remain six feet apart from each other and at least twelve feet from the congregation, singing from the choir loft.
3. Human aerosol transmission through singing poses an elevated risk for the spread of COVID-19. Singers must understand that participation in a choral ensemble is done so at each singer’s own volition, with understand of the risks involved.
4. In the event of a spike in COVID-19 cases, (a.) singers may be asked to wear facemasks while singing as an added safety measure; (b.) the ensemble may need to be temporarily suspended for the protection of the singers and congregations; (c.) public Masses may be temporarily suspended by the Diocese of Bridgeport at any time.
