In another thread, I made reference to English adaptations of the Graduals that I have been working on and using at my principle Mass in lieu of the Rsp. Ps. I decided as a sample to post the Gradual for this coming Sunday. The translation used is that of the 1990 Gregorian Missal, which was used by Ostrowski for his Psalm-tone Lalemont Propers, and thus carries an imprimatur for liturgical use. The music is adapted from the score at Gregor und Taube. It is not a literal rendering, per se: Those familiar with the Latin original will notice that some phrases were cut, altered, or shortened to fit more naturally with the English text; Also, some liquescents were removed and some added, also for linguistic purposes.
