"Ecce Sacerdos" for Mass with Cardinal?

    We're having a Mass with our Bishop and our "state" Cardinal next month. What are the guidelines for doing a setting of "Ecce Sacerdos"? Do I have to do it or is just required at a cathedral? In what part of the processional does it fit? Can I just do an instrumental version (say, the Bruckner without singing?)?

    In the Ordinary Form, no, you don't have to do it and it's not required. In the Extraordinary Form, yes, it should be done and helpful directions are found in the St. Gregory Hymnal. An instrumental version of the Bruckner wouldn't be advisable in either case.
