Question about "T.P."
  • I know I should know this by now, but somehow today, I am confused. Does T.P. extend to the Sunday after Easter? For example, the 2nd Sunday after Easter. Thank you for your help! Rebekah

The Pascal Alleluia and Marian Anthem changes for 1st Vespers of Trinity, at least in the E.F.

Yes, see LU 1962 page LVI . I have just lost a 7 line draft while I tried to research the distinction betwee Tempus Paschalis and Tempus Paschale.
[CORRECTED]OF however ends TP at the first celebration of Pentecost, Vespers or the Vigil.
OF however ends TP with the extinguishing of the Paschal Candle when it is last used on Pentecost.
Defending that would be above my pay-grade.

I would have thought that in the OF, Eastertide and therefore TP includes Pentecost. Ordinary Time resumes on the Monday after Pentecost according to the General Norms of the Liturgical Year.
