The Watertown Catholic Collaborative is looking for a part-time Music Director who sees themselves as a motivated disciple of Jesus Christ who has a love and appreciation for Sacred Music and Sacred Catholic Liturgy. The ideal candidate must know and appreciate various types of liturgical music including traditional Gregorian chant, plainsong, and Contemporary Catholic music that is faithful to Catholic thought and understanding. The ideal candidate must also be willing to promote congregational singing, work with and enhance an already established and accomplished adult choir, and have a willingness to work with and expand a small children’s choir.
Main responsibilities include oversight of music at four regular weekend liturgies, conduct weekly rehearsal for the Adult Choir and monthly rehearsal for the Children's Choir. In addition coordination of music for Christmas liturgies, the Easter Triduum and Holy Days throughout the year, and funerals and weddings is required.
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years experience in music ministry, demonstrated experience in organ and piano, and excellent organizational and communication skills.
