Opening for Alto Section Leader

Section Leaders are paid a stipend of $50 for each Mass and rehearsal from late September through June. They are expected to spend time on their own studying/learning/rehearsing their parts, are to act professionally while on Cathedral property, be able to closely follow directions, and be timely and punctual. The current time commitment is one rehearsal (Monday evening), and one Mass on Sunday (9:45 call) - two calls per week.

Singers should be competent sight-readers, have excellent vocal control and choral blending ability, have experience singing polyphony, and be able to handle learning a good amount of music over the course of a year. The full Cathedral choir sings on alternate Sundays from September through June, and the section leaders sing as a quartet on the alternating weeks during the seasons of Advent, Christmas, Lent, and Easter. Attendance is necessary for the feasts of the Church year, particularly Christmas and Easter.
