In the run-up to Good Friday, those of you encouraging your priest or deacon to chant the Ecce lignum in Latin, but not encouraged by their grasp of the authentic (and admittedly difficult) chant, may want to consider the option given in the Graduale Simplex, here transcribed. I imagine one could use the simplified verse and still sing the authentic response (in our less-than-ideal world).
