Which are the Pentecost motets you love?

It is my joy and privilege to introduce this little choir to marvelous polyphony in the Church's vast treasury of music. We have special pieces for most of the great feasts through the year ... but for Pentecost, I am still looking
will go back over the other thread, of what some choirs sang on Pentecost Sunday, making notes
but there are so many on this forum who haven't posted there -
could you share? Which are the Pentecost motets you love?
We could handle 4 or 5vv (SSATB, SATBarB), either a cappella or accompanied by organ.

I did post on the Pentecost thread, but I wanted to stress my affection for "Factus Est Repente" by William Byrd. 5 voices, a cappella. AATTB, though.

I love Victoria's Dum Complerentur, as well as the Missa Dum Complerentur.

It may be too "Mozarty" for some, but I like the Mozart Veni Sancte Spiritus

Actually, I have a hard time finding good Pentecost motets, for whatever reason...interested to see others' ideas. -
I heartily recommend Gregor Aichinger's Confirma hoc Deus (offertory) and Factus est repente (communion) - lively and fun to sing (and hear).
Other Pentecost motets that "work":
Palestrina - Loquebantur variis linguis
Iribarren - Spiritus Domini (at least the first part)
Allegri - Veni Sancte Spiritus (not the sequence)
Andrea Gabrieli - Hodie completi sunt -
Our choir has sung the Gabrieli "Hodie", the Palestrina "Loquebantur", and the Aichinger "Factus". All very nice choices.

A lot to choose from. We've done K. 47 the past few years, but also love the fugue "Der aber die Herzen forschet" from BWV 226.Thanked by 1mmeladirectress

Palestrina's motet Dum Complerentur and his Mass based on it are long-time favorites of mine.

Tallis' Loquebantur is beautiful as well, although it requires too many voices for the forces suggested here.
