Immaculate Conception Parish in Dardenne Prairie (ICD), Missouri seeks a Director of Music to minister to a vibrant, suburban parish community of 4,600+ households. This person will lead our community in “full, active, and conscious participation” each Sunday in praising God by directing our Adult Choir, providing music for two additional Masses, and coordinating and supporting the overall music ministry of the parish.
Assisting at some additional Masses will sometimes be necessary. In collaboration with the Director of Liturgy, other parish staff and ministry leaders this pastoral leader plans, develops and promotes parish liturgies. This salaried position requires a flexible schedule as determined by the activities of the day and liturgical seasons and includes evening and weekend work. ICD seeks an energetic, relationship-oriented, practicing Roman Catholic with some experience and training. The position will also allow for development of additional choirs and involvement in Masses for our parish school.
Desirable are some administrative, organizational and communication skills. Requirements would include: excellent keyboard skills (piano and/or organ); education in liturgy and music (degree not required); some vocal/cantoring abilities.
