Regina Pacis Academy is seeking to hire a part-time music teacher for our upcoming 2019/2020 academic year.

Regina Pacis Academy is an independent, K-8, Catholic classical school in Norwalk, Connecticut, on the campus of St. Mary's Parish. Regina Pacis is one of a growing number of Catholic classical schools in the country, that stands on the two pillars of a classical curriculum taught in an authentically Catholic educational setting. Our faculty and staff are all practicing Catholics, faithful to the Church’s teachings, who are committed to pursuing our goal of academic excellence for all our students in an unabashedly Catholic environment.

We are hiring a part-time music teacher to provide instruction for students in Grades K-8. Each class period is two classes grouped together (teaching a total of 5 classes over 2 half days). Additionally, this teacher rehearses and leads a schola at our weekly Mass (12:10 pm Mass at St. Mary's) and at 4-5 special feast-day Masses throughout the year (dates and times known in advance). Lastly, this teacher prepares musical selections for a combined school-wide drama performance during Advent. Ideally, this teacher would complement our classical curriculum with much-needed formation in music, including history and appreciation, but also be skilled in teaching basic chant. Regina Pacis Academy students are familiar with the Ward Method, and received music instruction throughout the 2018/2019 year.

Requirements:
The candidate holds a Bachelors of Music in Music or Equivalent experience
The individual must be a skilled teacher, demonstrating classroom management skills and an understanding of teaching students of varying ages and abilities, as well as being a strong musician.
