Submissions for Sacred Music Journal Invited
  • The editorial team at Sacred Music, the quarterly journal of the Church Music Association of America (CMAA) invites submissions.

Issues typically include articles, both scholarly and popular in style, on any topic in which a Catholic church musician or scholar would be interested. We also have a "repertory" section that includes performance analyses of motets, chants, or organ works—essays that would help the performer understand more about the history and musical structure of a particular work. We also accept reviews of CDs, books, etc., and sometime have opinion-style columns towards the end of the issue.

Essays can vary widely in length, but are generally between 2,500 and 9,000 words. Our style sheet is available here.

Questions? Wondering if we'd be interested in a certain topic? Write to us at submissions@musicasacra.com.

I don't suppose you'd take editorial cartoons, would you?
  • In the style of The New Yorker? Sounds intriguing.
