Did any of you do anything for Bach's birthday?
I gave a little impromptu concert for students. Eb St. ANNE
    An Wasserflyssen Babylon.

I put my fingers in my ears.

Not really, this one slipped up on me. Lent will do that to you. ;-)
  • Blissfully unaware (oh, how could I have been!) that this was Bach's birthday, I spent most of the day practicing Tunder, G Gabrieli, Frescobaldi, and Sweelinck in preparation for an all renaissance and baroque recital -
which will also include Scheidemann, Guilain, Purcell, Bohm, and.... Bach.

JSB's New-Style birthday is 10 days later, this year on Laetare Sunday.

It was fun. I have heard that some of the Bach scholars are in a genuine snit over it. That's kind of their normal state, anyway.
  • CharlesW - lol
my brother (mysteriously connected with IT, "one of the boys in the back" he says) looked at that and responded, "wow, someone got paid to do this! Fun !!!"
