I'm looking for a choral Communion piece. Perhaps an Alleluia? I've been looking at the archived suggestions and then looking them up on choral wiki. I could use some help as I feel I'm searching for a needle in a haystack.
This is a "contemporary" parish and I really love bringing beautiful sacred works in when the choir and I can. This is for the Vigil. Our offertory is The Strife Is O'er, Recessional is Llanfair, and Now the Green Blade Rises will probably go in as a communion hymn as well. I would prefer something that refers to the communion antiphon or an Alleluia. I would be so grateful if you had any ideas for me.
How about the Jubilate Deo round by Praetorius? It's easy to learn, and sounds polyphonic, and is surprising to ears which are used to hearing modern music. It's as short or long as you want it to be.
