Roman Missal Memorial Acclamation chant source?
  • My 1990 Gregorian Missal states that its Mortem tuam chant [m s s l l] (p. 26) is "the only form of the acclamation presently set to Gregorian chant."

The setting of the ICEL translation A found in my copy of the Roman Missal [l l s l d t l] (p. 640) doesn't have a source that I've been able to find, and is clearly not based on the Gregorian Missal's setting.

Am I missing some obvious source for this chant, or is this a neo-Gregorian composition?

They are all modern compositions, based on the formulae of many Mode IV Antiphons, such as the Crucem tuam of Good Friday (Veneration of the Cross), upon which the Mortem tuam acclamation was based.
