Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, in Lancaster, SC
Position will facilitate all liturgical music for the parish, including weekend and holy day Masses, Funeral and Nuptial Masses (extra compensation provided), weekly Adoration, and periodic devotions or public events. Position will include but is not limited to organ duties, directing the Adult Choir, the Parish Schola (event-based), the St. Cecilia Girls’ Choir (once a month), the seasonally-based Children’s Choir (Christmas and Easter), and the Divine Mercy Choir (for funerals only), training and scheduling cantors, advising the pastor on musical matters, and serving on the parish’s Liturgy Committee.
Applicants must be a Catholic in good standing. The applicant should hold a graduate-level degree in a field of music and possess certified master level proficiency on the organ. Applicants must have an expert knowledge on the Catholic liturgy and its sacred musical tradition, including key conciliar and post-conciliar documents on sacred music. Additionally, applicants must have knowledge of liturgical Latin. 3-5 years experience as a Director of Sacred Music preferred.
