St. John Passion - Viadana

    I present here, for comment and/or use, a choral performing edition of the St. John Passion with turba choruses by Ludovico da Viadana. I've taken the score from CPDL (edited by Bud Clark) and altered the choruses to match the correct RC Lectionary text. With my pastor's blessing, we will be using this on Good Friday along with the Batastini chant from GIA.

    The traditional chant as edited by Batastini has the narrator pitched around Eb "major." Transpose that down to C and the two editions match. Then the chorus will sing the parts of the speaker that pertain to them.
