    I recall reading an interesting article on the history of Missa VIII via a link one of the helpful folks here provided. Would anyone have a link to the history of this setting of the Mass?

    Yes that is what I was thinking of...but now I realize I wasn't clear. What I was looking for is a similar article on Missa IV. But thanks!!

    I believe that there is an article about Kyrie Cunctipotens (IV) by Dr. Mahrt in "The Musical Shape of the Liturgy" (CMAA--I believe that it's also available as a PDF on the website). But, IIRC, the article discusses Kyrie IV, not the rest of the Mass.
