Today, I had the privilege of directing the music for my grandfather's funeral Mass.

I wish to share with you the program of music that was sung, so as to hopefully provide inspiration and guidance to others who find themselves in a similar position. I sought advice from the pages of this forum as I was preparing for this Mass, so I feel it's only appropriate to give back.

This was an OF Mass in a suburban parish church outside Toronto, Canada. We had a choir of 3 male voices, myself included. Hymns were accompanied with the keyboard/organ; Everything else was sung a cappella.

Andrew Motyka's article Setting an Example Through Funerals was extremely helpful to me in preparing this program of music.

It was a beautiful Mass. Given the resources I had, I wouldn't have changed anything. I pray it was a fitting tribute to my grandfather. May he have eternal rest.
