The Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Waterbury, CT seeks an organist (number of hours per week negotiable, including possibility of full-time) for all parish liturgical celebrations including, but not limited to, Sunday Masses and choir rehearsals. The organist will also be responsible, in collaboration with the pastor and colleagues in the music ministry, for maintaining a rich, inspiring program of sacred music in accordance with the liturgical tradition of the Roman Catholic Church.
The Basilica’s Organ is an Austin Co Opus 1522 (1928) with 3 Manuals, 4 divisions, 31 Stops, 35 Registers, Manual Compass in 61 notes, Pedal Compass with 32 notes.
Candidate should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Music (preferably in organ), an advanced degree would be desirable. Compensation commensurate with education and experience. The position will commence in 2019 at date convenient for the organist; applications will be accepted through December 15, 2018.
