Rhodora J. Donahue Academy, established in 2007, is a Catholic, co-educational, college preparatory, and classical school operated by Ave Maria Parish in the Diocese of Venice, FL. We are a PreK-12 school with a total student body of approximately 245, with about 60 in grades 9 - 12. Our more than 50,000 sq. foot facility is located near the campus of Ave Maria University in Ave Maria, Florida. We want to establish a benchmark Catholic Music education program based on Ward Method principals.
Position: Full Time K-8 Ward Method Music Teacher
Coordinates: All aspects of liturgical music daily; All aspects of music at special events (processions, retreats, fundraisers, events)
Full time teaching duties to include all normal responsibilities of a music teacher but with a specific focus on sacred music using Ward Method instruction:
-Grade School Instruction: 2 x Week –Ward Method levels 1 and 2
-Middle School Instruction: 2 x Week—Ward Method levels 3 and 4 and introduction to English hand bells
-High School Instruction: 1 class—Sacred Music appreciation and application
Must be a practicing Catholic able to support the Catholic and classical mission of the school
