String ensemble rep appropriate for Mass

    I am interested in ideas regarding pieces a small string chamber ensemble (trio or quartet, mainly) could play for solemnities -- perhaps sacred vocal works played on strings or pieces from the string repertoire appropriate for Mass.

    Check out the Latin mass that was just celebrated at the basilica in philadelphia for assumption. String stuff by Mozart Vivaldi, etc

    Baroque sonatas da chiesa by just about any reputable Italian baroque composer. These were multi-movement instrumental works intended to be played in church, even at various points during mass.
