Director of Music & Office Manager, Taylors Falls MN
  • St. Joseph Catholic Church has about 1,000 parishioners and is located in Taylors Falls, MN

    This full time position is a Music and Administration (office manager) position with a salary range of $50-$60k along with benefits.

    The music portion would include planning liturgical music for all parish liturgies, weekend Masses, weddings, and Funerals. He or she will be the accompanist (piano and/or organist) at three Masses a weekend. The person who gets this position will work to will foster and encourage liturgical celebrations through the gift of music.

    The administrative portion of this position would include receptionist, parish mailings, bookkeeping (data entry, writing checks, etc), maintain parish records.

    The work schedule would be Monday-Wednesday, Saturday evening, and Sunday morning.

    Job Qualifications
    • College degree in Music and/or Organ or related area or equivalent prior work experience.
    • Respectful of the Catholic faith and liturgy
    • Knowledge of Catholic liturgy
    • Competency in playing organ and/or piano (preferably organ). Strong overall music skills
    • Experience and sensitivity in leading the congregation in song: setting clear tempos, outlining a clear melody, listening for balance, and adjusting as needed
    • Capability to rehearse with and accompany a cantor
    • Capability to rehearse with and accompany a small seasonal choir (Christmas & Easter)
    • Positive interpersonal skills and a team player.
    • Administrative skills
    • Computer skills to utilize Microsoft Office software and to enter data in software such as Parishsoft.
