Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass Section Leaders

St. Albert the Great is seeking section leaders for its Parish Choir. These are newly established positions to help expand our music ministry.

Section leaders will support our volunteer choir. We are committed to singing the music of our traditional choral heritage, including chant, polyphony, and suitable modern choral works. Propers feature prominently in our musical offerings, both English propers and Gregorian chant, in addition to traditional hymnody.

Section leaders should have excellent sight reading and choral skills, the ability to lead sectionals if necessary, and a readiness to support the volunteers of the choir in their ministry.

Rehearsals are held Wednesday evenings, 7:15-9:00 p.m. The Parish Choir, including Section Leaders, sings weekly for the 10:00am mass, plus some holy days. Section leaders will also serve as cantors for our other regular weekend liturgies. There will be additional opportunities for cantoring and solo work throughout the liturgical year, including weddings and funerals.
