Tenth Annual Choral Workshop at Walsingham -
  • Several on the Forum have written to me asking if there were a choral workshop at Walsingham this year.
For those who don't live too far away from Houston,
or for those who would enjoy an extended trip,
or who would like to see and sing in the Ordinariate's cathedral church, the answer is 'yes'.

The clinician is Simon Carrington, founder of the King's Singers.
This will be the third year that we will have had Dr Carrington.
All have found him inspiring and an excellent choral paedagogue.

It takes place 13 through 16 June.

For more information go to Chorus Angelorum's website - www.chorusangelorum.org

Attending the workshop would not only give one the opportunity to sing the music of
    Purcell,
    Stanford,
    Elgar,
    Howells,
    Byrd,
    Tallis,
    Stopford,
    and more,
but will be your chance to participate in solemn evensong at Walsingham
and see Walsingham's beautiful, prayerful campus.

Chorus Angelorum, who sponsor the workshop, is a semi-professional choir resident at Walsingham and who exist only to sing solemn evensong roughly every month from September through May. It is distinct from the Cathedral Choir, who sing two masses every Sunday and Solemnity, and an occasional evensong. Both are directed by Edmund G Murray, Cathedral Choirmaster and Organist.
