    Immaculate Conception Pro-Cathedral, El Paso, Texas

    Immaculate Conception Parish is seeking an accomplished Music Director/Organist and committed Catholic to direct the music program at our church. All Masses are in the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite. We recognize positive effect that quality music can have in raising the mind and the heart to God and so we are accepting applications of those who will help us provide musical excellence in the service of the Sacred Liturgy.

    We are looking for someone with:
    -Extensive knowledge and experience singing and directing Gregorian Chant
    -Extensive knowledge and experience with the Renaissance Sacred Polyphonic Repertoire
    -Familiarity in a variety of choral rehearsal techniques
    -Energy and organizational skills to build upon a nascent program
    -Comfort in producing programs, flyers, and other materials on the computer
    -Interest, enthusiasm, leadership ability, patience, prudence, charity

    Desired but not required:
    -Ability on the organ
    -familiarity with the Traditional Latin Mass (can be learn quickly if not currently possessed)
    -familiarity with music scores programs (e.g. Sibelius, Finale, etc)
    -knowledge of Spanish

    The Music Director, in coordination with the pastor, will be responsible for the music program at the parish. Specific responsibilities will include: development, ensemble rehearsals, singing/directing/playing for Sung Masses on Sunday (our current schedule includes one Sung Mass on Sunday) and other Masses/Liturgies throughout the year. The director will work with our Men’s Schola and mixed Choir. We wish to develop a children’s choir or chorister program, though this may not be immediate.

    For the present, this position is part-time. Compensation to be negotiated based on experience and scope of work.
