Kyle - I'm curious about your use of 'The Lord Sits' (Sedebit) for the communion antiphon. In both the GR and Divine Worship:The Missal there is an alternate, Amen, dicovobis: quod uni, 'Amen, I say to you, inasmuch as ye have done it', given for XP ye King, year A. Were you aware of this, or did you have some reason for not using it?
One will notice up above that I improvised chant for the year A antiphon. I did this because I didn't have it in an English version and didn't have time to transcribe it myself. It is likely somewhere in Palmer-Burgess but, having little time, I didn't find it by paging through this wonderful-but-indexless source. ________________________________________________________
Casavant - About your use of the Darke - BRAVO!
Whilst one must admit that the use of 'Old Church English' within a Roman ritual is (unfortunately) illicit, it pales, I should think, in comparison to quite an endless litany of gratuitously tacky and brazenly illicit things that are done at, in, and to Roman rituals.
I sang the American GradualAmen...quod uni (omitting "it") but you might not have found it anyway in "this wonderful-but-indexless source" which doesn't seem to have weekdays in Lent. I encourage anyone with a little spare time to contribute to the partial index here though.
While I think the Darke texts are nice; just because “in comparison to quite an endless litany of gratuitously tacky and brazenly illcit things that are done...” does not make it right.
Two wrongs don’t make a right. We aren’t helping the situation by doing exactly what “they” do. We have rubrics and should follow them. Maybe one day they will change
MJO - It's actually not in the collection that I was using! I was using the Peter R. Johnson Antiphons, mostly because I can have the choir sing them without complaining about chant notation. I'd rather use the St. Meinrad, but those are "too long" to some of the parishoners (the pastor and other priests love chant, though, so we are doing at least one Mass in advent full chant). It was my mistake, but I'll have a better collection for next year.
Kyle - i've come to enjoy Simple English Propers; Richard Rice's offertories (his introits and communios are nice but are from the missal not the gradual); and the Lumen Christi Missal. We are using a mix of these regularly.
While it's certainly not Our Lady of Walsingham, I'll put this against what is going on at our local Catholic parish across the town green any day. And my Episcopalians really sing, and love to be led (and inspired!) by the organ, with the Rector leading the way with his lovely baritone.

Yesterday being my 70th birthday, a very sweet 5-year-old boy and his younger sister gave me a balloon and a hand-drawn birthday card. Those going out could see the balloon bobbing near the choir loft door, but I thought it was a nice gesture.
Illness decimated us yesterday and we were down to 1 bass, 2 altos, 2 sopranos, and 4 tenors. Strangely, it turned out rather well with so few voices.
