If anyone's interested, the Sistine Chapel Choir is singing on September 26th at 7:30. Not sure if it will be livestreamed, but if anyone's in the area, please come out!
The concert at the Shrine in Washington yesterday was packed to the gills, with full pews in the nave, people sitting in side chapels, plus a couple hundred standees.
The program was Renaissance polyphony, with one chant piece (the Gaudete Sunday introit). A short tour through the liturgical year using propers and psalms/canticles, but not Mass ordinary parts.
I noticed that watching the Holy Thursday broadcast from a few years ago. For a big liturgy like that (or a concert) which draws from many books, it seems like a good choice. (That said, I still sing from paper.)
