I stumbled into the SFEMS Mediaeval/Renaissance workshop faculty concert tonight, with some remarkable viol-shawm-sackbut playing. A Veni creator by Adam Knight Gilbert was also played; evidently once he began a commission he was told they had meant Mahler's Veni, from the 8th symphony, so that tune has a large share as well in 2 of the partite.
Tomorrow night is the workshop participants concert, also free, at St Albert's Priory (Chabot off College, next to Hiway 24).
