Can anyone tell me of any nice 2-part mass settings you have come across, with organ accompaniment (or accomp. that could be adapted on the organ)? Would need to be a latin setting. Possible Combinations: SA, SB, AB, TB, Or any kind of mezzo-baritone pairing.
Mr. Hoßl's numerous editions of cecilian composers are only in Finale format, and on my Mac Finalereader doesn't work as advertised either. But try IMSLP instead.
Yon's Mass of the Shepherds was brought up in a previous forum post. I have used it at Christmas, where its rather saccharine temperament wasn't too out of place.
Douglas Keilitz (former DM at St. Ignatius of Antioch Episcopal Church, NYC) cooked up a two-part arrangement of Durufle's 'Messe cum Jubilo' originally scored for men's voices with organ. I think the new 2-part arrangement is super cool, but the organist still has to work like a dog! Do have a listen:
From Manfred Hoessel's site, Carl Jaspers' Missa in honorem S. Cecilia (originally SA+organ) is a pretty and accessible pieces. Some antiphonal work here and there, but my old Anglican congregation snapped it up quickly. My choir sang it ST/AB until I gave it a bass part (after the basses started doing it themselves, the cards!)
The above pdf needs to be cleaned up; opening it after tweaking Sibelius created some oddities in spacing et cetera. If you are interested, let me know.
