Greetings to all. At the risk of earning an honorable mention in the "Your Least Favourite Composers" thread, I would like to share my latest composition. As usual, it is available for free download and use (Creative Commons), and a digital rendering is provided:

I value feedback, and I hope the piece may be of use to someone looking for a polyphonic setting of De Profundis.
  • Beautiful!
    Haunting!
Only the ending could be less abrupt

  • Very effective setting of this text. I didn't think the ending was too abrupt, although I might add fermatas to the last chord (for the last time only, I like the abruptness before entering the chant verses). Just my take.

I appreciate the feedback. Thank you.

There is a ritardando written near the end that directors are free to interpret to their liking (or disregard). The ritard didn't have any effect on the playback of the digital rendering, which does just end abruptly. Some slowing could certainly take place at the director's discretion.
