Large suburban parish in the Archdiocese of Detroit seeks a full-time, highly-skilled musician to further develop the parish/school children’s choral program, assist in playing for liturgies, and to serve as accompanist for the parish liturgical choir and schola. The successful candidate will be a practicing Catholic, will have significant experience in and knowledge of children’s vocal techniques and will demonstrate the ability to accompany and lead congregational singing in both traditional and contemporary styles. Knowledge of the Church’s liturgical documents and norms is presumed. A Bachelor’s degree in music and strong communications and organizational skills are required. Competitive salary commensurate with experience. The parish has a four-manual Cornel Zimmer pipe organ in the main church, a two-manual Casavant organ (1935) in the chapel, recently renovated and enlarged, as well as a 48-bell Eijsbouts carillon.
