Does anyone have suggestions for a unison or 2-part motet for my children's choir (4th-8th graders) that will be for our Marian concert in May? They will be singing Gonoud's "Regina Caeli" (Pueri Cantores series), and joining my adult choir on Paul French's "Memorare". They are familiar with Schubert's "Ave Maria" but I'd like to give that a rest this year. I'm interested in another setting of an Ave Maria, or even more preferably, another Marian text or prayer, either Latin or English.
Rheinberger's 2vv Ave Maria. Wonderful piece that works well with treble choirs & mixed choirs, so that you can also teach it to your adults and sing it combined.
To say "music for two voices" is to say Orlando Lassus. I have mentioned (in another context) that there is a collection Canticum duorum vocum, and think you might find something Marian (or Marian-applicable) in the larger collection than I have.
