Another member of this forum recently mentioned an article from the Winter 2006 edition of Sacred Music magazine. I looked up that issue, and another article caught my attention as I have been thinking of designing something similar here. It was , "The Promise and Pitfalls of the Parish Music Workshop", by Arlene Oost-Zinner and Jeffrey Tucker.
In that article, as the workshop progressed the many pieces of chant and polyphony used were listed, and as I read, I pulled up each of them on Spotify, and let them play as I read the instructors' explanations. I must say, the whole article came alive in a way I had not expected. :)
Once again, many thanks to CMAA and its tremendously talented people for making this available.
Peanut Butter and Jelly is my favorite sandwich. Smith and Wesson is my favorite private security firm. Arlene and Jeffrey is? my favorite writer of music articles.
CGZ- I love my Hostess Pie Queen and that Sartorial Splendor, but for eloquent and apt prose, my $ is on Miss (Doc) Ballou, with a Café nod to the Great G.
