Saint Brigid Catholic Church, a vibrant and growing parish of 3,000 families, in a northern suburb (Johns Creek) of Atlanta, seeks a full-time Director of Music. Candidate should have a thorough understanding and appreciation of Catholic liturgy, a Bachelor's degree in Music, Master's preferred, along with excellent organ, keyboard and choral conducting skills. Candidate must also be able to conduct major choral/orchestral works as part of the Sacred and Performing Arts Series. The parish often collaborates with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in concerts. Responsibilities include: planning and preparation for four weekend liturgies, holy days, weddings, funerals, and training, directing, and scheduling of choirs and cantors. Parish currently has a traditional Parish Choir, Journey of Praise Choir, Life Teen Band, and Children's Choir Program. An Associate Organist and several paid Music Associates are in place to assist with these groups. The parish has a 2 manual, 37 rank Casavant pipe organ (2004) in the rear choir loft, a Yamaha grand piano, and a new single manual Flemish harpsichord.
