Yon Mass of the Shepherds 2-part

    Does anyone own a copy of the 2-part (with optional 3rd) version of Pietro Yon's Mass of the Shepherds (Messa dei Pastori) in LATIN (©1937). My ILL attempt didn't work out since the Duquesne copy was miscatalogued (©1965 and in English)

    I just played through it, and I like it. It sounds like Christmas. Was it written with Christmas in mind? Can you include the rest of the Credo? Thanks.

    Thanks! I wouldn't be using the Credo anyway. If ILL coughs up a version, a prettier scan might make it to IMSLP (only legal for our non-American brethren to download *cough*)

    There is now a pretty and complete scan of this up at IMSLP. (Give it a day or two to get passed). Meanwhile, I'd given up and copied the one from ClemensRomanus. I was not going to do the Gloria as it's different music (and we never do composed Credos), but my folks had such an easy time with the other movements that I'll probably give them the Gloria next week. I can't say it's a howling masterwork, but as Steve says, it sounds like Christmas.

    Yes, I do have a copy of Yon's Mass of the Shepherds in English (SATB). I also have several settings in Latin for it.

    Michele, I do have extra copies of Yon's Mass of the Shepherds SATB in Latin. I also have the voice parts published separately. PM me and I can get them to you.

    And then, please, could one of y'all scan them and put them up on IMSLP, for the next person who needs them? Or if you don't do that, send the scans to one of us who does.

    Here is the English version of Yon's Mass of the Shepherds. When you print it out, you will get a blank page between each page.
